A basic rundown of the events is as follows:
1. Tire Race - Ride to the other end of the arena, dismount, get through a bicycle tire, mount, ride back.
2. Saddling Race - Your saddle will be on the other end of the arena and you can either ride or lead to it, saddle your horse, mount, and ride back.
3. Ribbon Race - The pair holds a ribbon at each end and races around the outside of 2 barrels. They must stop any time one rider drops their end or if the ribbon breaks and regain the ends before continuing on.
4. Musical Feedbags - Like musical chairs, only the rider must dismount and stand on a feedbag.
5. Egg & Spoon Race - Ride around the outside of 2 barrels carrying an egg on a spoon without touching it or dropping it. If you drop it you can either pick it up and continue on (if it is not broken) or take a time penalty equal to the distance that you still have left to go.
6. $it-A-Buck - Riding bareback all riders keep their dollar bill under their knee. Riders will be asked to change gaits and directions as the class goes on. Once a rider looses their buck, they are out. Placing is reverse order of going out. The winner also gets all the lost bucks.
7. Pole Bending (Right First) - Run to the far end of the 6 poles, with the poles on your right. Weave in and out between all the poles in a row down and back and then ride back to the start.
8. Pole Bending (Left First) - Run to the far end of the 6 poles, with the poles on your left. Weave in and out between all the poles in a row down and back and then ride back to the start.
9. Command Class - Like Simon Says, riders must do what the judge calls out within two strides or they are out. Placing is in reverse order of going out.
10. Keyhole Race - Ride into the keyhole (lined in the arena sand in a circle shape with 4 poles or cones set up as the entrance and exit to the circle) turn around and exit the keyhole without stepping outside it or knocking over a polr or cone, and ride back to the start.
11. Baby Bottle Race - Ride to the other end of the arena with a baby bottle, feed it to your partner (the baby) without them touching it. For Pairs the baby is mounted. For individuals, the baby is standing on the ground. Once the bottle is empty the feeder will squirt the baby in the face with the bottle to be sure it is empty. Pairs will have the baby return with the bottle. Individuals will return with the bottle themselves.
12. Run, Ride, Lead - Your horse is at the other end of the arena (may be held or ground tied). You run down to your horse, mount, ride down and back, dismount and lead the horse back to the start.
13. Stake Race - Ride down and around a stake (pole) and back.
14. Ball & Cone Race - Ride to the first cone and pick up the ball and place it on the second cone. Ride around the third cone and pick up the ball that you placed on the second cone and replace it on the first and return to the start.
15. Flag Race - Ride to the first barrel and pick up the flag in the bucket and place it in the bucket on the second barrel. Ride around the third barrel and pick up the flag that you placed on the second barrel and replace it on the first and return to the start.
16. Knockdown & Out - Riders line up and one at a time will jump one jump. First it will be a rail on the ground between the standards and after each rider has successfully jumped, the rail will be raised one hole (approximately 4") and riders will commence jumping again. If the rail is knocked down, the rider is out. If there is a refusal, you will have up to two more attempts for that height. Each rider will be allowed 2 refusals at each height or 4 refusals total. A 3rd refusal at the same height or a 5th refusal total, and you will be out. Placing is in reverse order of going out.
17. Pairs Class - Judged on how well matched the pair is, either by looking alike, staying together, moving in step, or general appeal to the judge.
18. Cloverleaf Barrels (Left First) - Ride counter clockwise around the left most barrel then clockwise around the right most barrel, clockwise around the back barrel and then return to the start.
19. Cloverleaf Barrels (Right First) - Ride clockwise around the right most barrel then counter clockwise around the left most barrel, counter clockwise around the back barrel and then return to the start.
20. EDGE Mystery Class - This class is a mystery and also has triple the money added for the optional jackpot. The rules will be announced shortly before the class begins. If, after the rules are announced, you wish to sign up, you will need to pay double, in order to enter.
